PARQUET 2013-2014, THE TOP TRENDS

When it comes to color, there is no clear trend as such. As we have seen, the color palette on the catwalk is highly varied and the same can be said of the world of home interiors. Pastels, bright or fluorescent colors.

A good designer knows how to take a cue from trends, knows make them own and knows how to give his own interpretation to the same knows very well that one should never think with the head of the other,  and knows that Any color palette can be modeled with its own style. In every trend, there's always something special that it solicits our creativity.

Personally, I suffer the timeless charm of the look regenerated, this topic is expanding rapidly and is gaining ground in the design of any type of environment. Have you asked yourself why?

… because in times of great economic crisis, when the future seems uncertain, people try to surround yourself with things, colors and environments that give a feeling of protection and safety: go back in time, to  re finding  scents and colors related to the past, brings serenity and calm.

For this reason, personally I predict that will be a big success the mix of old and new material: wood + steel + bricks, two hot elements in support of a glossy material and cold which together create a  modern-rustic that can be dosed as needed going from a totally-rustic to modern warm and refined. It will be your feeling to decide how and how much !

ORIGINAL RECLAIMED

Re-using authentic floors and pieces of furniture remains very popular. Old, weathered pieces, full of character, tell their own story. Wormholes, cracks, tiny nail holes… are not considered imperfections. These perceived 'flaws' make a floor stand out and add a strong authentic charm to a room

REGENERATED + STENCIL

PATINA

Furniture and accessories are often treated with a patina to give them a rural look. The patina subdues the effect of the knots and cracks. It softens the rough appearance of the original reclaimed floor, lending a floor a softer, romantic look

PAINTED, PEELED OFF

In today's home interiors, a painted, peeled-off look is gaining popularity. Old planks, that were once painted to give them a second life, started flaking and peeling off in some places. The white paint, combined with the wood grain that has become subtly visible again, exudes an authentic reclaimed and romantic feel.

SAW CUTS

'Saw cuts' are set to remain a success. The pattern of the saw cuts goes back to time-aged planks that are cut using a chainsaw. The irregular cuts produced by the vibration of the saw lend the floor an authentic and artisan look. The random effect of the saw cuts creates a nice balance without being overwhelming.

OAK
In the coming years, the oak is destined to be among the most sought after species of wood. The models in classic oak continue to be widely appreciated, in response to requests, on the market you can find a variety of models ranging from reclaimed oak with that aged look - with cracks, saw cuts and nail holes - a milder version covered with a patina or a peeling paint or brushed wood or wood hand-planed.

PANTONE COLOURS TRENDS INTERIORS 2014

We are terribly late for publishing Color Home interior design trends 2014, but our blog is born today, and for future references trend you need to start with the publication of the color palette 

PANTONE ® VIEW home + interiors 2014

But what does "trend"? Trends as what is in vogue, the general direction in which something is developing and changing and to be currently popular. Much like Fashion, Interior Design has ever-changing trend forecasts and things come in and others go out. Such trends are there to predominantly keep “us” Interior.

But remeber Trends come and go but style is forever! Therefore You don’t need to strictly adhere to trends, It is important create your own personal style, for turn a house into a "unique piece" that brings your signature combining design with functionality and the elegance that will make you a very popular interior design

The nine themes that Pantone have created for the 2014 forecast are as follows and I have interpreted these into interior schemes to give you a better understanding and the images that follow make it very well the concept Remember these trends are guides only, so colours may vary and include tints and variations of shades.

TECNO COLOR

Innovative Techno Color acknowledges the advancement of technology and how it is impacting the world of design and expanding the color universe through a melding of both vibrant and deep hues frequently executed in reflective surfaces. Shades like faceted Emerald and a turquoise-like blue, an exuberant orange and strong, vital purple plus a true blue, Jet Black and Dark Citron are intertwined in
intriguingly inventive color combinations.

PHYSICALITY

Colors are unassuming and do not take center stage – they are sophisticated tones with distinctively nuanced undertones that are elegantly harmonized including Travertine, Anthracite, Blanc de Blanc and Twilight Mauve, supported by an anodized brown, ethereal gray and a suggestion of silver.

FLUIDITY

Gliding gracefully through watery channels, Fluidity is the palette that understands the inevitable human need for life-sustaining cool water tones rendered largely in dazzling blues and blue-greens. These cooling hues are underscored by shimmering seagrass shades and undersea-creature colors such as Absinthe Green, Violet Tulle, a blazing Samoan Sun, a Dewberry purple and two tones of eye-arresting orange-corals

COLLAGE

Collage is a gathering place for found objects that are well worn and somewhat nostalgic – a charming mélange of artfully constructed designs that demonstrate ingenuity and resourcefulness. There is poignancy in this palette with color and design sounding a familiar chord. Tea Rose and deep reddish Rhubarb, warm Pumpkin Spice and cozy Sheepskin are refreshed with Margarita green, Provincial Blue, plus cascading tones of aqua and teal.

INTIMACY

Intimacy implies a certain affinity and relationship that are expressed in tints and tones that are inviting in nature and softly tactile, closely connected, yet subtly different; a happy marriage of adaptable warm, cool and neutral tones. Combinations co-join effortlessly in offering an understated color collection. Gardenia white defines a lotus blossom pink; Rose Cloud, Fawn and Café Crème are delicious together, while pale Lavenders and Opal Gray are effectively approachable.

MODA

Both svelte and voluptuous, Moda speaks of attention to detail and the drama of high fashion when translated into interiors. Combinations can be theatrical in nature, displaying fashionable or whimsical flourishes, but always done with tasteful finesse. Red Dahlia interacts with Blackberry Cordial and Wood Violet all accented by a yellowed Amber Green. Corsican Blue meets with Magenta Haze and an expressive Linden Green, while Rich Gold waits in the wings for the appropriate moment to add a glimmering finale to any of the combinations.

TRIBAL

We are all members of tribes whether through cultural background, religion, political affiliation or community. The colors in this palette are as varied as the tribal diversity they represent, yet they construct a universal linkage of artistic appreciation rooted in personal expression. Color combinations may be disarmingly simple or as complex as inter-woven threads. Neutrals such as Bleached Sand and Kangaroo brown highlight an exotic Arabesque burnt orange, while Goblin Blue is flavored by Curry and Peppercorn. A rose-dusted  cedar shade is set off by taupe-toned Incense.

ECCENTRICITIES

There is always room for an eccentric palette with a personality that defies the established “rule book” of design and color, bringing with it a sense of adventure, wit, experimentation and discovery. It’s “tongue in cheek” in attitude and highly original in color juxtapositioning and cleverly conceived in evocative combinations – a flash of neon green radiates off of zesty lemon or nectarine combines with a daredevil Skydiver blue. Fudgesickle brown is rendered sweeter with Strawberry Ice. A warm red coexists with its cooler counterpart, while black and/or white can be drawn into any combination.
